LYNNWOOD — A new parking garage is set to open Monday at the Lynnwood Transit Center.
Sound Transit had the five-story facility built as part of its construction of the incoming light rail line and station there. It has 1,670 parking stalls to bolster the nearby 226 spaces at the transit center.
Some of the work that started in October 2020 at the transit center displaced parking, but the garage still adds about 500 spaces.
The garage has vehicle entrances from 44th and 48th avenues and access to the Lynnwood City Center light rail station. Light rail service is slated to begin next year, though the specific timeline is fluid as the Sound Transit board considers the sequence of upcoming projects.
