Sequim Rare Plants is an up and coming nursery with a selection of interesting, unusual plants – mostly flowering perennials. Don’t expect a high-gloss catalog with lots of photos. Do expect high-quality plants from seasoned plantspeople.
I heard about Sequim Rare Plants from Edmonds gardener Gail Lovell. I visited her place to write a story previewing the Edmonds garden tour. The sheer selection of uncommon plants at her house blew me away. She pulled out the modest Sequim catalog to show me one of her new favorite places to find plants.
She said the prices were reasonable and the plants arrived big and healthy.
Nursery owners Susan and Roger Pierce said they plan on cutting back their Sequim retail business next year to focus on expanding mail-order plants. Their Web site offers photos and plant descriptions.
