Attention all Caniacs: Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is headed to Lynnwood

The Southern chain with 750 restaurants is finally coming to Washington, with locations also planned in Renton and Seattle.

LYNNWOOD — Caniacs can rejoice.

Raising Cane’s, a Southern fast-food chain devoted to chicken fingers, is headed our way.

“We do have a signed lease in place in Lynnwood, but at this time, we don’t have a definitive timeline on when we will begin construction or open doors,” the company said by email. “It should open within the next two years.”

The company would not give the address of the planned Lynnwood location.

Two other Raising Cane’s are already in the works for King County, in Renton and Seattle.

A Vancouver, Washington, store is opening this month.

Until then, Caniacs have to travel to Portland to get their fix.

Raising Cane’s boasts about 750 restaurants in over 40 states. About 200 are in Texas. Join the Caniac Club for rewards.

The first Raising Cane’s opened in Louisiana in 1996. The founder, 24-year-old Todd Graves, originally planned to call the restaurant Sockeye’s as a tribute to his salmon fishing stint in Alaska that funded the chicken stand. Instead, at the advice of a friend, he named it after his dog, a Labrador retriever.

Sockeye sounds rather fishy, anyway.

The motto is One Love. That love is craveable chicken fingers. The only option other than chicken fingers is a chicken sandwich. No wings, legs, breasts or thighs. No beef. No fish.

No rice, beans, mashed potatoes or gravy.

Crinkle fries, cole slaw and Texas toast are the sides. With Cane’s sauce for dipping.

Patrons can have their drinks their way. Sweet tea. Unsweet tea. Half sweet/unsweet tea. Half tea/half lemonade.

At the Portland restaurant, the 3 Finger Combo with fries, Texas toast, Cane’s sauce and regular drink is $10.29.

The Caniac Combo with 6 chicken fingers, two Cane’s sauces, Texas toast, coleslaw and large drink is $17.27. A kids combo is $6.99.

A side of Cane’s sauce is 39 cents.

Tailgates are a thing at Raising Cane’s. A 25-finger tailgate is $42.99. The 300-finger version is $424.97.

A single chicken finger is $1.99, but who buys just one?
