CAMANO ISLAND — The state Department of Health on Thursday issued a boil-water advisory to people who live on Camano Island and get their water from the Camano City Community Club.
Routine water-quality tests showed E. coli bacteria in the water, according to a news release. An estimated 127 homes were affected in the middle of the island, on the western side.
People affected should use boiled or bottled water for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth and washing dishes. Tap water should boil for at least a minute.
Officials plan to disinfect and flush the water lines. The advisory is in place until further notice.
