BOTHELL — Authorities arrested a 23-year-old Bothell man Monday in Snohomish in connection with the assault of an 11-year-old child.
Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office detectives did not provide additional details about the arrest. The suspect was expected to be booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of first-degree burglary and second-degree child molestation.
Since Friday, detectives had been searching for a man who allegedly entered a home north of Bothell and sexually assaulted an 11-year-old child. When a second child awoke, the suspect fled the residence, according to the sheriff’s office.
Detectives sought video surveillance from the Bailey Farm apartment complex, 1225 183rd St. SE, between 10 p.m. Thursday and 2 a.m. Friday. On Monday, Special Investigation Unit detectives thanked Bailey Farm management for their assistance in identifying the suspect.
The man and child were not known to each other.
Detectives continued to investigate the case Monday.
