MALTBY — State troopers arrested a Snohomish driver for allegedly rear-ending a motorcyclist Friday on Highway 522, killing him.
Around 3:45 p.m., a man in a Tesla Model S and a man on a Yamaha motorcycle were driving eastbound at Fales Road, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The motorcyclist, later identified as Jeffrey Nissen, slowed for traffic. The Tesla driver did not, troopers said, and struck the motorcycle.
Nissen, 28, of Stanwood, was ejected. He died at the scene.
The state patrol arrested the Tesla driver, 56, for investigation of vehicular homicide while driving distracted.
