EVERETT — Cascade High School went into a lockdown Thursday when a student brought a fake firearm onto campus, police said.
Police detained the suspect around 12:30 p.m., Everett police officer Natalie Given said.
School officials restricted access into the building for about 30 minutes, but went about their normal class schedule, in what’s known as a “lockdown,” Everett Public Schools spokesperson Kathy Reeves said.
The lockout was lifted before 1:30 p.m., Reeves said. No one was injured.
Officers were investigating, but believed there was no active danger on campus.
Given cautioned drivers to expect traffic backups along Evergreen Way and Casino Road while police investigated.
