EVERETT — A long-time employee has been named as Snohomish County’s new surface water utility director.
Gregg Farris will oversee 94 full-time employees responsible for addressing flooding, water quality and habitat programs. Farris has twice led the surface water division as interim director. He is replacing Will Hall, who resigned in March.
Farris is a licensed civil engineer with a master’s degree from Colorado State University. He has worked in the field of water resources for nearly 30 years, most of that time with the county.
His upcoming tasks include recommending a new business plan for the department.
