Filming of a new Amazon Studios television pilot based on Philip K. Dick’s 1962 alternate-history novel, “The Man in the High Castle,” will close some roads near Monroe this coming week.
The Snohomish County Department of Public Works advises motorists in the Monroe area of the single lane closures and short-term road closures of 168th Street SE/Ben Howard Road and Lake Crescent Road, all near Highway 203, that could run 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29 through Friday, Oct. 3, although filming is expected to be one day only during the week.
Picrow Inc. has been granted permission to close the westbound lane of traffic on 168th Street SE/Ben Howard Road at Highway 203 and both directions on Lake Crescent Road at Highway 203 and High Bridge Road for the filming project.
Emergency vehicles and school district transportation will have access at all times.
“The Man in the High Castle” was originally in development as potential SyFy channel fare.
Amazon Studios takes ideas for films and episodic series, then develops the most promising stories into pilots that it then tests on audiences to see which ones continue forward.
