Firefighters battled a blaze that broke out just before 5 this afternoon at the Eagle Landing Apartment complex south of Everett.
Smoke could be seen pouring out of the northside of one of the buildings at 12601 8th Ave. W. near 128th Street.
No one was injured but two units were heavily damaged, said Leslie Hynes, a Fire District No. 1 spokeswoman.
Other units could have sustained smoke damage.
Some residents were evacuated.
One man, who did not appear injured, was asleep when the fire started and was led down a fire truck ladder from a third floor unit.
Investigators are on the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
