Donations sought: The YWCA is collecting toiletries for Project Homeless Connect through June 30. Needed items include full size 2-in-1 shampoo, lotion, deodorant, soap and bodywash. Donations may be taken to 3301 Broadway in Everett (Monday-Thursday).
Buses for Fourth: Community Transit buses will operate on a Sunday schedule for the Fourth of July holiday. There will be no commuter service to downtown Seattle or the University of Washington. Customer service phone lines and stores will be closed. People wishing to take the bus July 4 to Seattle can ride Sound Transit Route 512, which also will operate on a Sunday schedule.
Bus schedules can be found at www.communitytransit.org/schedules. On a related note, no fireworks are allowed on buses or transit property.
Golf tournaments: The Lynnwood Kiwanis club plans its annual charity Golf Fore Kids tournament July 16 at the Nile Golf Course in Mountlake Terrace. Make a hole in one on the 18th and you could win a car. Format is 18-hole scramble with shotgun start. Cost is $110 and includes lunch. To register, contact John Baker at 425-776-7578.
