Scrap metal drive
Local Boy Scout Venture Crew 148 is collecting scrap metal to raise money. Scrap metal will be collected between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday at two locations. Metal can be dropped off in Monroe behind Albertsons, 19881 U.S. 2, or in Everett at First Covenant Church, 4502 Rucker Ave.
The types of items being collected include filing cabinets, old nails and screws, lawnmowers, metal fencing, kitchen sinks, and so on. No vehicles, refrigerators or freezers can be accepted. For more information, email 148fundraiser@gmail.com.
Mill Creek senior breakfast: Mill Creek Senior Center is having a Waffle and Pancake Breakfast to raise funds.
The event is set for 8:30-11 a.m. Sept. 19, at Merrill Gardens Retirement Community, 14905 Bothell Everett Highway.
There will be old-fashioned waffles and pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, coffee, tea and juice. Suggested donation is $10. For more information, call the senior center at 425-948-7170.
Help at park cleanup: Mountlake Terrace is organizing a park cleanup day at 9 a.m. Saturday at Ballinger Park, 23000 Lakeview Drive. The event will be held rain or shine. Volunteers should bring gardening gloves and tools. Groups should register with Parks and Facilities Superintendent Ken Courtmanch in advance so assignments can be planned.
