Everett Community College plans a Spanish-language informational session for high school students and their families at 5:30 p.m. April 12 in the college’s Henry M. Jackson Conference Center.
The event, “Noche Entre Familia,” is intended to inform families about options to pay for college, earning college credit in high school and other basic information. Current students at the college are also scheduled to speak.
This is the second Spanish-language event hosted by the college this year; one was held at the school’s East County Campus in Monroe. In 2015, more than 150 people attended the Spanish-only information session.
Child care is available during the event for families who call 425-388-9973 in advance to reserve a spot.

Arts applicants: The Edmonds Public Facilities District, which operates the Edmonds Center for the Arts, seeks two people to join its five-member board of directors.
Applicants need not reside in the city of Edmonds. Applications, which are due by April 13, are available on the Edmonds Center for the Arts website at www.ec4arts.org. Click on Edmonds Public Facilities District at the top of the home page.
Fundraiser: A fundraiser is planned for a local fire prevention effort.
Greg Gibson died in a recent fire in Shoreline. His family and friends have become involved with a campaign in Snohomish County to distribute smoke alarms and fire safety information. The fundraiser show, starring performer and hypnotist Jim Kellner, is scheduled for 8 p.m. April 26 at Darrell’s Tavern in Shoreline. Cover is $5.
