The Lynnwood Police Officers’ Association is selling plush toys modeled after Lynnwood police dogs to raise money for the department’s canine unit.
The stuffed dogs are $20 each, and just under 9 inches tall. The dogs each wear a fake ballistic vest, a Lynnwood police patch and a collar with a Lynnwood police badge. They come in black-and-tan German shepherd or all-black German shepherd.
Proceeds go toward buying police dogs and their training and equipment.
The toys are for sale during business hours at the Lynnwood police station, 19321 44th Ave. W.
Collecting used eyeglasses: Members of Everett Lions clubs plan to collect used eyeglasses at two Silvertips Hockey games as part of the Lions Score for Sight campaign.
The Lions each year send thousands of pairs of used eyeglasses to the Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center in Lacey for sorting and grading.
The glasses are given to people around the world who can’t afford glasses.
Donations of the used eyeglasses and money for the Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation of Snohomish County are set to be collected at the games Saturday and Jan. 4 at Comcast Arena, 2000 Hewitt Ave.
