Willis Tucker Park
Snohomish County officials plan to celebrate Thursday after wrapping up a third phase of construction at Willis Tucker Park south of Snohomish. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 6 p.m. New amenities include four sand volleyball courts, two picnic shelters, 248 paved parking stalls and improvements to the off-leash dog area.
The park’s east entrance is at 6705 Puget Park Drive, between Cathcart Way and Snohomish-Cascade Drive.

Race the Reserve: Parents of Coupeville High School seniors plan a Race the Reserve half-marathon, 10k and 5k on Aug. 13. The fundraiser is for a safe and sober graduation night celebration.
Runners will wend through Ebey’s Landing National Historical Reserve, starting and finishing the loop courses from the high school at 501 S. Main St. The half marathon will extend past Camp Casey, Fort Casey and Rhododendron County Park. Start times are at 8:30 and 9 a.m., with registration at 6:30 a.m.

Golf tourney: The South Everett-Mukilteo Rotary Club’s annual golf tournament fundraiser is set for Aug. 26 at the Harbour Pointe Golf Club. Shotgun start is at 1:30 p.m. with a best ball scramble format. Entrance fee is $140 per player and includes dinner. Net proceeds benefit the local YMCA and Boys and Girls Club as well as scholarships.
