Glider pilot dies in crash

ARLINGTON – A Seattle glider pilot was found dead this morning near Wheeler Mountain north of Arlington after a mid-air collision Thursday evening with another glider, authorities said.

The mid-air crash happened between 3 and 5 p.m. Thursday, according to the state Department of Transportation, which also searched for the pilot today.

The other glider pilot, 24, of Marysville, survived the wreck. Wheeler Mountain is located about six miles northwest of the airport.
