Air Force Airman Lamech O. Hamisi graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Hamisi is the husband of Minnie Njoki of Everett.
Air Force Airman 1st Class Mario A. Mirante graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. Mirante is the son of Christopher and Teresa Mirante of Arlington. He is a 2013 graduate of Arlington High School. In July, Mirante graduated from fire-fighting training at Goodfellow Air Force Base in Texas. He spent a few weeks working with the Air Force recruiter in Everett and is now headed for Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida.
Air Force Airman Keisuke T. Ansara graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in Texas. Ansara is the son of Geoff Ansara and Brigitte Grey of Bothell. He is a 2012 graduate of Glacier Peak High School.
Air Force Lt. Col. Suanne Marie Gay Crowley was promoted to her current rank this week. She is a judge advocate general officer in the Air Force serving at the Pentagon. A 1989 graduate of Lynnwood High School, she also graduated from the University of Washington and Tulane Law School. Prior to the Air Force, Crowley served as a Naval Honor Guard in Washington, D.C. She and her husband Jerry Crowley live in Arnold, Maryland, and have two sons, Brendan and Michael. She is the daughter of Leonard and Judy Gay of Lynnwood.
Navy Petty Officer 1st Class David San Luis, who serves on the USS Nimitz, was one of five military personnel honored with a Spirit of Service Award in July by the American Legion of Washington state. He is a aviation maintenance administrator. A native of Guam, he enlisted in 2004. During the Nimitz 2013 deployment, San Luis volunteered to clean up a school in Phuket, Thailand, where he rerouted a clogged sewage pipe and built a trampoline. He also volunteers at the NOAH animal shelter northeast of Stanwood.

Traveling memorial wall: The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall is up through Aug. 3 at the Veterans Memorial Museum just off I-5 in Chehalis. The wall bears the names of more than 58,000 men and women lost during the Vietnam War.
