YAKIMA — The Kittitas County sheriff’s office says a woman was selling clothing and other items that had been donated for families who lost their homes in the wildfire near Cle Elum.
A shelter volunteer recognized the items when they were listed for sale on the Ellensburg swap meet group on Facebook.
KIMA reported an undercover deputy bought some of the items, and the 20-year-old Kittitas woman was arrested Wednesday for trafficking in stolen property.
The woman had picked up the donated clothing, personal hygiene and infant care products from the Ellensburg Community Closet, saying they were for a family with six children that lost its home.
Deputies photographed the items before returning them to the donation center.
