EVERETT — Lake Stevens City Council member Gary Petershagen announced his intent Wednesday to run for office again in the November election.
Petershagen was first appointed to a council seat in January 2017, according to the city. He subsequently won reelection in 2017 and 2021.
“It has been a privilege to serve the residents of Lake Stevens on the City Council for the past several years,” Petershagen wrote in his announcement Wednesday. “I look forward to the opportunity to earn the community’s support for a third term on the Lake Stevens City Council.”
Petershagen owns multiple companies in the field of real estate and construction. He previously served on the Lake Stevens Planning Commission for six years.
In his announcement, Petershagen wrote he “has supported and been a vocal advocate for law enforcement, supported improvements to recreational facilities, and continued to support improvements to roads and pedestrian facilities.”
If re-elected, he would “continue to prioritize these critical issues,” he wrote.
