EDMONDS — Police arrested a man for investigation of murder Wednesday in the fatal shooting of a rideshare driver last week.
Around 10:15 p.m. Jan. 3, rideshare driver Abdulkadir Shariff Gedi had just dropped off a couple of passengers, according to the Edmonds Police Department.
A pedestrian was crossing the street at the intersection of Edmonds Way and 236th Street Southwest, according to police. As Gedi tried to turn left, the pedestrian reportedly shot at him.
The SeaTac man later died at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He was 31.
Around 2:30 p.m., Edmonds police arrested a 21-year-old Edmonds man for investigation of second-degree murder. The man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail at 7:21 p.m., jail records show.
