BREMERTON — Police say a man tried to steal beer from a Bremerton grocery store by putting it in a baby stroller — with a baby on board.
Police said the 22-year-old man rolled out the front door Saturday when he was stopped by a store manager who grabbed the stroller.
The Kitsap Sun reported a tug-of-war ensued that turned the stroller on its side. The 2-month-old baby girl was not hurt. Two other men who had apparently been with the beer snatcher rushed up, grabbed the baby and drove off. Today, the baby’s mother reported that the two men had returned her daughter to her immediately after the incident.
The manager wrestled the other man to the ground until police arrested him for investigation of robbery.
