ARLINGTON — The city’s street plan, a moratorium on medical marijuana gardens, golf carts on city streets in the Gleneagle neighborhood and the donation of an eagle sculpture are on the agenda for tonight’s City Council meeting.
The meeting is set for 7 p.m. in council chambers, 110 E. Third St.
A public hearing regarding Arlington’s six-year transportation plan leads the meeting.
The council also plans to place a moratorium on medical cannabis dispensaries and collective gardens while the city and its police department figure out how such activities would be allowed.
In addition, the council plans to OK the use of golf carts, at 25 mph, in Gleneagle. The state approved such uses in 2010.
The Arlington Arts Council’s latest donation of public art is a life-sized bronze eagle by La Conner metal sculptor Bill Matheson. The sculpture is set to be placed at the northeast corner of City Hall, looking down on Olympic Avenue.
