MARYSVILLE — A 16-year old boy was killed in a car crash in Marysville just after midnight on July 4th, according to police.
The car was going east on 136th street and the driver lost control after going over railroad tracks located in the 4500 block of 136th Street NE, police said.
The car rolled over, ejecting three passengers in a ditch next to the roadway. A fourth had walked away and was later found near his home, authorities said.
The road was closed for several hours while police investigated.
Authorities said speed appeared to be a factor in the crash. All four of the car’s occupants were Marysville residents, two were age 15 and two were 16, according to Marysville police.
Two of the boys were transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. One of them was transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious injuries. The driver was also injured and taken to a hospital by family.
Police continued investigating Tuesday. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased and determine his cause and manner of death.
