MONROE — A teacher at Monroe High School was under investigation for alleged sexual misconduct with a student, police wrote on social media Thursday.
Details of the allegations were not available Thursday afternoon. Monroe police said their investigation revealed a similar previous accusation at the school.
The teacher, who had not been identified publicly, has been put on administrative leave, Superintendent Shawn Woodward wrote in a message to families Thursday.
“We want to assure you that we are taking these matters very seriously,” Woodward wrote.
Police urged the community to send any information on teacher misconduct to the department. Those with info can email police@monroewa.gov or call detective Nate Erdmann at 360-863-4565. The department also has an anonymous tip line at 360-863-4600.
