LYNNWOOD — A Mountlake Terrace man agreed to an order that bars him from coming within 25 feet of the Planned Parenthood clinic in Lynnwood.
The order is the result of a consent decree to resolve a civil complaint filed in January 2010 against John Kroack, according to a press release from officials with the U.S. Assistant Attorney’s Office in Seattle. Federal authorities accused Kroack of violating a law that prohibits the obstruction of any person providing or obtaining reproductive health services with the intent to intimidate or interfere with that person.
Kroack was accused of entering the Lynnwood Planned Parenthood clinic and physically and verbally intimidating staff while kicking and throwing his shoulder against a locked door that separated the waiting room from the exam rooms. He refused to leave and later was arrested.
As part of the consent decree, Kroack, 53, was ordered to pay $5,000. All but $1,000 of the fine is suspended as long as there are no other violations.
