SEATTLE — A man accused of stabbing another man more than 80 times, then leaving the body in a shopping cart in a south Seattle neighborhood, has been charged with second-degree murder.
Prosecutors charged Michael Sean Thompson, 46, on Friday in the death of a homeless man identified as Daryl Ford. Thompson is held on $2 million bail, with arraignment set for June 12.
Witnesses reported seeing a man struggling to push a shopping cart with a body in it May 22. The man took off and left the cart when a woman asked what he was doing.
The Seattle Times reports that prosecutors say the victim may have been killed in Thompson’s room at a housing complex operated by Sound Mental Health. Court documents say surveillance video from the housing complex shows Thompson entering his room with a man who resembles Ford late on May 21. Ford is never seen leaving.
