In a recent column I made fun of pansies — a floppy flower with a bad name — and asked readers to give me their favorite cold-resistant plants for tarting up brown, shaggy containers.
Hardy cyclamen is much prettier than pansies and primroses and better named, reader Sue Cross told me. Other good suggestions from Sue: hellebores (even more fun to say, she says) and bulbs, including daffodils, species tulips, crocus and snowdrops.
Nurturing a fabulous spring container? Tell me about it or better yet, send a photo.
