EVERETT — Two Silver Lake-area banks were hit by robbers in recent weeks, and police are asking for help identifying the suspects.

The Everett Police Department last week released new surveillance footage in hopes of generating tips. It’s unknown whether there was any connection between the robberies, officer Aaron Snell said.

The first robbery happened just before 5 p.m. April 21 at the KeyBank at 1902 110th St. SE.

The suspect, described as white and in his 40s, demanded money and ran eastbound with the cash, Snell said. The man wore a long white wig with bangs, plus black-framed glasses. No weapon was seen. A police dog search was unsuccessful.

The second robbery happened just after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Coastal Community Bank at 10520 19th Ave SE. The two banks are within a couple of blocks of each other, Snell said.

The robber in that case wielded a silver revolver, demanded money and drove off in a blue Honda Accord.

The Honda was found abandoned nearby a short time later and turned out to be stolen, Snell said. The car was impounded as potential evidence. Again, a police dog track was unsuccessful.

Investigators believe the Coastal bank robber had a getaway driver, Snell said. The Coastal bank robber was described as a white man with long brunette hair that was likely a wig. He was wearing a baseball hat that read “Los Angeles” or something similar, sunglasses and a bandana over his face. He was wearing a purple sweatshirt, blue jeans with bleach-style splotches, and gloves.

Anyone with information is asked to detectives at 425-257-8450 or Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound at 1-800-222-TIPS.
