LYNNWOOD — Authorities evacuated a Lynnwood Costco warehouse Saturday afternoon following a refrigerant leak that left a man with frostbite burns, Lynnwood firefighters said.
The man had been standing next to the refrigeration system when a line broke, Lynnwood fire Lt. Keith Shaw said. He was taken to a local hospital with what were believed to be minor injuries. The refrigerant posed no airborne threat to other people inside the store on 19105 Highway 99.
Crews responded there at 1:41 p.m. and evacuated the building as a precaution, Shaw said. A technician arrived to fix the refrigeration system as firefighters monitored the air inside.
