Jackson High School’s “Jack in the Bot” Team 2910 and King’s Schools “CyberKnights” Team 4911 from Shoreline were teammates on a four-team alliance that reached the final round at the FIRST Robotics Competition World Championships, held April 17-22 in Houston. They finished second overall.
“I’m so incredibly proud of the team and their amazing accomplishment. On and off the field they performed like champs,” said Maggie Thorleifson, Jackson High robotics advisor.
The CyberKnights served as the alliance captain. Their classmates celebrated their return with a parade.
Also at Worlds, the Mountlake Terrace High School “Chill Out” Team 1778 was a subdivision winner. And Cedar Park Christian Schools “CPR” Team 3663 was a subdivision finalist.
More than 91,000 students on 3,660 teams from 27 countries competed during the 2018 season.
