When you wake up today, you may find just a trace or snow or a whole inch covering the ground.
Rain showers in many parts of Snohomish County were expected to turn into snow Monday evening and continue into the morning, said Dennis D’Amico, a meteorologist from the National Weather Service in Seattle.
In the mountains, it may be up to 2 inches, he said.
Still, the snow was expected to taper off by daybreak, marking the start of cool, dry weather for the rest of the week. That means no white Christmas in store for much of Snohomish County.
Most people likely won’t have problems with their morning commute — the warm temperatures in most places mean the snow won’t stick to the pavement, D’Amico said.
The mercury was expected to dip overnight and some places in the county also may see a dusting of snow today.
