50 years ago (1958)
Twin brothers, Richard Clark and Robert Clark, both graduates of the University of Washington School of Dentistry, opened their practice at 5929 Highway 99. Both had practiced dentistry in the area before this new venture.
Safety was the theme when the Lake Stevens Lions opened their 1958 series of meetings at Memorial Hall. In keeping with the interests of the community on the shores of a sizeable lake, the principal speaker on the theme was Robin Sattlemeyer, boatswain’s mate first class in the Coast Guard.
25 years ago (1983)
People in business included Dr. Lucille Mason, formerly with The Everett Clinic, who was relocating her practice to 900 Pacific Ave., and Drs. Reynold Karr and Ross Bandy, specialists in allergy and arthritis, who were moving their medical office to 3128 Norton Ave.
Bruce Stich was 8-0 in dual meet competition this season for the Marysville-Pilchuck Tommies. He ended last season as the top 168-pounder in the Western Conference. He also spent time assisting Marysville-Pilchuck coach Rick Iverson with the Marysville Mussels, a youth wrestling program.
