LYNNWOOD — A man was shot Friday morning at a 7-Eleven near Lynnwood after breaking up an attempted robbery, leading to a police pursuit into Everett that ended in one arrest and several suspects evading law enforcement, police said.
At about 2:50 a.m., four people were allegedly stealing merchandise from the convenience store in the 3600 block of 148th Street SW when a man stepped in to stop them, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
The four suspects fled the 7-Eleven and fired guns as they left, shooting the man in the leg while he was in the parking lot, the sheriff’s office reported. The man, 38, was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
Police found the suspects in a car in Lynnwood. Officers pursued. The pursuit stretched for miles, almost reaching downtown Everett when the suspects crashed into an unoccupied car near 35th Street and Grand Avenue, according to police.
Officers pursued the suspects on foot. They caught one, an 18-year-old man, and arrested him. The other three remained at large Friday morning. Investigators were searching the area with a police dog.
