INDEX — A Skykomish man died Wednesday after crashing the truck he was driving on U.S. 2 near Index.
Richard Shepardson, 69, was eastbound on the highway just east of Index at 3:41 p.m. when the Chevrolet Avalanche went off the road, according to the Washington State Patrol. It landed on its side.
The state patrol was investigating the cause of the crash, but did not identify drugs or alcohol as potential factors.
