STEVENS PASS — Stevens Pass Ski Resort will open a week ahead of schedule, with lifts running at 9 a.m. Friday.
The resort had previously planned to open Dec. 6, but announced Monday the season would begin sooner due to snow conditions.
“With the recent snowfall we received and a promising forecast for this winter, we are looking forward to another fantastic season,” said Ellen Galbraith, vice president and general manager of Stevens Pass Ski Resort.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the base of the mountain has 3 feet of snow. The National Weather Service predicts snow showers through Friday.
The ski resort is implementing a new parking system this winter that will allow reservations during weekends and peak periods. Reservations will begin the first weekend of December. Parking will be free and first-come, first-served on nonpeak weekdays.
Crystal Mountain opened Friday and Snoqualmie Pass Ski Resort is set to open Dec. 6.
