“Smallville” stuntman Christopher Sayour was in serious condition at a hospital in Vancouver, B.C., after being injured in a fall during filming on the show, his family said Wednesday.
The 35-year-old Sayour suffered multiple fractures and internal injuries in Tuesday’s accident, and “we ask everyone to join us in praying for Christopher’s recovery,” his family said in a statement.
Sayour is the stunt coordinator on the teen Superman drama. He has been the stunt double for series star Tom Welling, who plays Clark Kent, since the show’s debut in 2001.
Initial reports said Sayour fell 26 feet, but a later report said he dropped 37 feet, said Donna Freeman, a spokeswoman for the regional Workmen’s Compensation Board, which is investigating.
Rolling Stones album to be released Sept. 6
The Rolling Stones’ latest disc, “A Bigger Bang,” is due for release Sept. 6 on Virgin Records. It’s their first studio album since 1997’s “Bridges to Babylon” and features all-new material.
Tracks include the first singles “Streets of Love” and “Rough Justice,” along with “Back of My Hand,” “It Won’t Take Long,” “Laugh, I Nearly Died” and “Rain Fall Down.”
Mick Jagger turns over vocal duties to guitarist Keith Richards on “This Place Is Empty” and “Infamy.” There’s also a rough-edged rock ditty called “Oh No, Not You Again,” which the Stones played in May at The Juilliard School to announce their upcoming world tour.
The tour kicks off Aug. 21 at Boston’s Fenway Park.
