MARYSVILLE — It’s tax time again and Sno-Isle libraries are ready to help.
The libraries are offering tax forms and instructions as well as free, one-on-one assistance with individual federal tax returns through the AARP Tax-Aide program.
AARP sessions are available by appointment only, and priority is given to those age 60 and over.
The program is offered at the Coupeville, Edmonds, Freeland, Langley, Lynnwood, Marysville, Mountlake Terrace and Oak Harbor libraries.
Copies of tax forms and instructions will be available at all Sno-Isle libraries. Although most of the forms have arrived at the libraries, at least three forms have yet to arrive from the IRS, said Jenny Piper, assistant marketing manager for Sno-Isle libraries.
“They’ve ordered them,” Piper said. “The orders go in July so the IRS is sending them when they’re ready.”
The libraries have 1040, 1040A and 1040EZ booklets and most of the additional common forms but are missing change of address Form 882, child and dependant care expenses Form 2441 and Standard L forms.
All tax forms are available online at IRS.gov and people who visit the libraries can print them for free from library computers, Piper said.
Several Sno-Isle Libraries have also added extra computers for this year’s tax season that are exclusively for use by those who are filing their tax return. These libraries include Darrington, Edmonds, Freeland, Lynnwood, Marysville, Mill Creek, Monroe, Mountlake Terrace, Oak Harbor, Snohomish and Sultan.
