This is one of the 12 finalists for the Herald Business Journal’s annual Emerging Leaders awards for 2025. The winner will be named at an event on April 8.
Tracy Nguyen, 38
Tracy Nguyen is a big believer in giving back to her community.
That’s why the marketing director for Mountain Pacific Bank chairs the Snohomish County affiliate of Girls On The Run, which offers after-school activities for school-aged elementary children.
“At a time when youth kids need additional emotional support and mentorship coming out of a pandemic, I am so honored to give my time to Girls on the Run,” Nguyen said. “The program allows kids to develop healthy friendships and build confidence in a curriculum-based, after-school program that incorporates running to promote an active lifestyle.”
“Growing up, she said, ‘I wished Girls on the Run’s program existed, I struggled to make friends in school and never felt like I fit in.”
Given her role at the Everett-based bank, Nguyen is in a position to decide how the bank can make the most impact in its charitable giving.
“As the marketing manager at Mountain Pacific Bank, I identified an opportunity to improve how we managed sponsorships, charitable donations, and event participation requests from local nonprofits and community organizations,” she said. “While we were already involved in numerous community initiatives, I recognized that there was a need for a more streamlined, transparent and efficient system to ensure our support was impactful and aligned with the bank’s core values and goals.”
She said the new system brought together marketing, executive management and the community redevelopment officer, with the goal of developing clear guidelines for which charitable efforts the bank should fund.
Nguyen has a connection to giving in both her professional and personal life, she said.
“For example, my board service with Girls on the Run helps me stay grounded and allows me to give back, fostering a sense of purpose outside of my career,” she said.”In both realms, my vision is to grow, innovate, and contribute all while staying true to my values and maintaining a sense of purpose in everything I do.”
