SNOHOMISH — A Washington State Patrol trooper saved a man who had jumped from the Snohomish River Bridge earlier this month.
On Aug. 11, trooper Yaroslav Holodkov received a call around 7:40 p.m. about a man standing on the ledge of the bridge.
Holodkov found the man, who was looking down at the water, said trooper Heather Axtman with State Patrol. They started talking. As Holodkov walked closer to help him to safety, the man jumped.
Holodkov grabbed the man by his shirt and pulled him back over the ledge with one hand, Axtman said.
“Trooper Holodkov acted bravely, putting his own life in grave danger which ultimately prevented a loss of life,” Axtman said.
