EVERETT — Two people were hurt Tuesday night in a suspected DUI crash on 112th Street SW in which a driver allegedly went at least 80 mph, according to police.
An Everett man in his late 20s was driving a Mercedes Benz on 112th Street SW at 7:23 p.m. when the crash happened, police said. A woman in a car pulled out of First Place West, where the Everett man allegedly rear-ended her car, Everett police officer Kerby Duncan said.
The Mercedes went over a curb and into a fence.
The woman and a passenger in the Mercedes had serious injuries and were taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening, Duncan said.
Police arrested the Mercedes driver on suspicion of DUI. His injuries did not require hospitalization, according to police.
Traffic detectives closed the road between Second Place W and Meridian Place W until after midnight for their investigation.
Detectives believe the Mercedes driver was going 80 mph or faster at the time of the crash, Duncan said. The speed limit there was 35 mph.
