EVERETT — A woman was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with serious burns after a residential fire Wednesday in Granite Falls.
Around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, firefighters responded to reports of a motorhome fully engulfed in flames in the 23000 block of Tiger Creek Road. A woman with serious burns from the fire escaped to a neighbor’s house, where responders found her, according to Fire District 17.
Paramedics from Granite Falls and Lake Stevens treated the victim before airlifting her to Harborview, according to Bill Dane, assistant chief for District 17.
Fires like this pose challenges for their small department, Dane said, adding that he was grateful for help from Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue and other first responders.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
