The challenge on the front page of your Saturday paper reads “Just try to find a real seahawk.”
OK, I found one. The osprey is the sea hawk. According to Wikipedia, they are also known as fish hawks and fish eagles. It’s a bird of prey that is a common sight in the state of Washington and particularly common in and around the Port of Everett. These magnificent birds make their living locally by snatching fish from the waters of Puget Sound. In the spring and summer their nests abound atop pilings around the Everett marina.
A quick Google search of the terms sea hawk and osprey resulted 14,500 hits. Perhaps a follow-up story about sea hawks/ospreys would be appropriate.
