Can we find a politically moderate path, please?

I was just wondering what happened to the moderates.

I am a third-generation union ironworker and we all mostly voted Democratic. I am old enough to remember when Sen. Henry M.”Scoop” Jackson was in office and I also remember Gov. Dan Evans. One was a Democrat and one was a Republican but a good part of the time they agreed about quite a lot.

These days the policy is we hate them and they hate us. Even when the other party does something we all like we can’t support it because one of ours didn’t think of it. It also seems like when the Democrats are in they go way too far to the left and as soon as the Republicans get elected they go just as far to the right.

I read our politics are like a ping pong game these days and that seems about right to me. Anyway it would be nice to lighten up a little in my opinion.
