The weekend news stated that Sen. Maria Cantwell is urging the investigation of the Washington state gas prices. (Article, “Call for look at pump prices.”) I was very surprised to see her name in print because I almost forgot about her. I haven’t heard anything of importance about her for a long time. Then it hit me. She must be running for re-election.
It’s amazing how some of these politicians remain dormant for a few years and then when re-election time comes up, well they are then supporting bills, investigations, etc. to get their name in the press. The media will now have a concentrated effort to keep her name on the front page and she will get elected again and then go back to wherever she was before and then life goes on for another six years. When will the public wake up?
