I support the Snohomish County teachers who have called attention to Governor Bob Ferguson’s draconian, across-the-board $4 billion budget cutting spree (“Snohomish County educators rally against state and federal cuts,” The Herald, March 6.)
Housing, child care, health care, education, mental health care, climate and the environment are all important issues. Our state cannot maintain a good quality of life while we continue failing to raise enough revenue to provide state funding for things in the common interest. The sooner we fix our taxing system so that everyone pays their fair share, the better.
Our legislators must not mimic the Trump regime and their plans to maintain and expand tax cuts to the wealthiest persons and biggest corporations. Washington needs a fair tax system that supports a strong economy and a robust future for all its citizens.
