In response to the Tuesday letter, “His crimes are what death penalty is for”: I am wondering if the writer read the article concerning Richard Clark’s life-in-prison conviction carefully. There was no loophole used whatsoever. Roxanne’s parents were the reason Clark will spend his life in prison and not face the death penalty. The victim’s family did not want to endure another 10 years or more in court trials and maybe not receive the conviction they were hoping for. With the confession of Clark, Roxanne’s parents’ nightmare was ended. Now Roxanne’s name will not be connected with what may happen to Clark.
Incidentally, it’s Richard Matthew Clark, not Matthew Clark.
