Having read reporter Kari Bray’s article, “Arlington coalition wants to keep drug abuse awareness program going,” regarding a young lady struggling to find freedom from active addiction, I can relate from personal experience that there is a way out!
Addiction is not a hopeless state from which there is no freedom!
Narcotics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. We meet regularly to help each other stay clean. The responsible, productive lives of thousands of addicts is clear evidence of the effectiveness of our proven program of daily recovery. Indeed, in another of life’s seeming paradoxes, we can only keep what we have by giving it away!
We as a fellowship have vital, first-hand experience with addicts in all stages of recovery. We do not discriminate — at all! All are welcome to attend open N.A. meetings. We ask only that no photographs or last names be revealed, in deep respect for our guiding principle if anonymity.
Narcotics Anonymous is available in the Everett area, including almost every town in Snohomish County.
For more information, speaking engagements, literature, etc., call our helpline at 425-609-6170.
The tired old lie, “Once an addict, always an addict” will no longer be tolerated by society or ourselves!
We do recover!
