GOP wants to run on border crisis, not fix it

Regarding a recent letter to the editor about Herald Columnist Sid Schwab, immigration policies and the U.S. Border Patrol: I don’t know when the letter was written, but if the writer googled a bit around Feb. 5, he would have seen several news organizations had reported that the Border Patrol Chief and the the patrol’s union had endorsed the plan that the U.S. Senate proposed.

We also know that former president Donald Trump is the de facto leader of the Republican led side of the House, and had instructed them not to pass the Border Patrol-endorsed bill. House Speaker Mike Johnson then saluted Trump, would not consider the immigration bill, and then adjourned the House for two weeks. Republicans don’t want to solve border problems, they just want to run on them.
