After reading several of the complaints in letters to the editor about The Herald’s recently revised comics page, I for one would like to applaud The Herald for their continued commitment and support of local journalism and reporting.
Whether it be background research on local political candidates (such as the recent school board candidate’s falsified resume), to area business developments, to the fun and light-hearted local people and “What’s up with that?” features, I would much rather see these aspects of local journalism continue over watching the paper become mostly copied AP newswire stories with a large comics section that can be easily accessed online anyways.
Regardless of what comics were selected, it would be impossible to make everyone happy. For those readers dismayed about certain omitted comics, I would suggest one of many free websites such as Inbox Comics where you can have any comic of your choosing emailed to you on a daily basis. Thank you again to the Everett Herald for making these hard decisions during changing times and keep up the good work!
