U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, as one of the most powerful, and most decisive men on the planet, finds his flag situation beyond his ability to deal with. Yet the solution is quite simple: If I were married and my wife was flying an offensive flag, I would point out to her that, as it was flying over my home, it would reflect badly on myself. And I would ask her to remove it.
If she refused, I would point out to her that, as her husband, I was The Boss, and as her Lord and Master, I would command her to remove it. And if she still refused, I would wait for some dark night when she wasn’t looking, and then sneak out and take it down, and hide it where she couldn’t find it.
